"A Great Actress"

Excerpt from "Jennie Lewis - An Autobiography" 1923:

March 1917 - Jennie Lewis in a play.

"When I became old enough to go to school, I was put in several little plays such as 'Snow White' etc., and always took the leading part. This gave me much confidence in myself. I really thought I had been cut out for a real actress. But as I grew a little older I was in several cantatas and also sang alone until this became quite a puzzle in my mind as to which I would rather be, a grand opera singer or a great actress."
